《汉语联绵词词典》从理论的角度对汉语联绵词作整理和阐释，较为全面地反映古汉语联绵词概貌，体现当代联绵词研究的最高水平。但该书仍存在三方面的不足之处：一是收词上不当收释外来词和已被确认为不是联绵词的合成词；二是释义上存在误释字形、释音有误、释义缺漏、释义重复、义项排列有误、主副条沟通有误、主副条未作沟通等问题；三是体例上部分词条用错字体、义项序号有误、标点误用或缺漏、副条标注与主条重复或副条信息重复、排版不规范等。《汉语联绵词词典》不足之处的研究有助于联绵词的研究和对该词典的修订。

The Chinese Dictionary of Lianmian Words collects and interprets Chinese Lianmian Words(Chinese words consisting of two characters,often alliterated or rhymed)theoretically,which more comprehensively reflects the general picture of Lianmian Words in ancient Chinese and the highest level of contemporary study of Lianmian Words. However,there still exist shortages in three aspects. Firstly,it collects improper loan words and compound words which are confirmed not to be Lianmian Words;Secondly,it exits some problems of misinterpretation of glyphs and phonetic notation,paraphrase omission and repetition of continuous Lianmian Words,disarrangement of dictionary entry,and misinterpretation and uninterpretation between principal and deputy acronym; Thirdly,it uses wrong font style on a part of acronym,disorders the sequence numbers of entry,misuses or omits punctuation marks,makes deputy annotation repeat with the principal or the deputy acronym,and has non-standard problems in type setting. The study of the shortage of The Chinese Dictionary of Lianmian Words is helpful to the study of Lianmian Words and the revision of the dictionary.
