中国特色政治隐喻词是外宣汉语的重要组成部分,它形象生动内涵丰富,且透露执政政府的政治立场,关乎本国国际形象。通过比照上世纪文学作品《上海的早晨》中有关“打虎”的英译，2013-2014年国内外主流英文媒体有关“打虎拍蝇”的88篇报道，以及中国译协网刊载的一篇探讨“打虎拍蝇”的英译策略文章，分析理论倡导及实践中采取的翻译策略,表明许多政治隐喻词在翻译中仍能直译且达意，直译达意的实现形式主要有：利用括号、破折号、逗号等符号标志简化解释直译；利用词句显性标注直译。

Political metaphors with striking Chinese characteristics are an important part of the Chinese language. They present readers with vivid images and are rich in culture-specific connotations revealing the government’s political stance and even help shape its international profile. A survey of the strategies and techniques of translating“Dahupaiying”adopted in 88 English reports published between the year 2013 and the year 2014 and the C-E translation of“Dahu”in Zhou Er-fu’s novel Morning in Shanghai, volume 1, along with an important paper on its translating strategies posted on www.tac-online.org.cn , demonstrates that direct translation, which retains the original lively images, with the aid of annotation——in brackets or after a dash or a comma or introduced by such phrasal or structural forms as “parlance for”, “referring to”, “as sb puts it”, “which refers to…”, etc. is still a favored choice in the translation of the Chinese political metaphors.
