《认罪书》和《朗读者》均由对残酷历史的追问实现人性的反思，揭示历史背后潜藏的复杂人性。同样是审视人性，两部作品无论是在反思方式、反思力度上，还是在对人性的揭示和忏悔救赎之路上都呈现出一定差别，这源于不同文化视域下对待历史态度的差异及其所包含的自省意识、人文关怀的不同。

By questioning the cruel history, both The Confession and The Reader have achieved the introspection of humanity, and revealed the complex human nature behind the history.The same point of both works is to review human nature, while the two works show differences in terms of introspection manners, reflection intensity, the revelation of human nature, and the approaches to repentance and redemption. All these are because of different historical attitudes and different introspective consciousness and humanistic care from different cultural perspectives.
