Spandex filament break is a common problem in application process, and also is an important factor impacting on the quality of fabric. The paper systematically expounds the main reasons causing spandex filament break in terms of two aspects including knitting process break such as edge dropping, overlapping, rolling-back and pulling break, and fabric surface break such as physical and chemical break. In addition, it also analyzes in detail the forms of every kind of spandex filament break. Finally, based on practical experience, it concludes the main methods to avoid spandex filament break, such as choosing the right spandex, controlling moisture and tem-perature of workshop reasonably and carrying out the operation specification strictly and so on.
