The functional materials based on humic acid have been the subject of growing interest due to their wide applications and great development potentials. In this paper, their research progress in recent years has been summarized and reviewed, involving the applications for waste water treatment in environmental protection, reducing ifltration in oilifelds, water retention in agriculture and forestry, as well as oxidation resistance.
