Ethyl carbamate(EC) is a known carcinogen. Alcohol beverages contain trace EC. In this paper, the hazards of EC on human body and its limit standards were analyzed. Besides, the existing control methods and detection methods of EC at home and abroad were reviewed, and the development trend of EC detection were introduced.
