In his“theory of harmony originating from Taoism”, Qian Gengsen stresses the function of the genesis, birth and development of harmony in Chinese traditional philosophy, which is of great novelty. Accord with Shibo’s“harmony fosters new things”and Lao tzu’s“Tao produces all the matters”, he inherits the traditional essence and gives profound theoretical value and positive practical meanings as well in his theory, which are mainly shown in the following aspects:harmonious and open generatively, harmonious connotation of value emergence and harmonious formation of modesty.
