Russell, the great British educationist of the 20th century, is known for his unique free education out-look, which goes through the whole educational thought system. Based on the exploration to the origin, purpose and principles of Russell’s free education outlook, we find that his thoughts have reference value to the intelligence edu-cation, quality education, equality in education of Chinese education reform.
