As the official tourist information publishing platform ,government tourist information websites play a vital role in building public tourist information service system .It has become a key issue in the construction of efficient government tour‐ist web platforms that governments should consider what information to provide to meet the growing demand of travel infor‐mation from tourists ,especially self‐help tourists ,meanwhile ,in order to reduce cost and improve efficiency ,governments shall not offer information that can be provided by market .This paper firstly analyzes the current situation of China's unoffi‐cial tourist websites and official provincial tourist websites ,and thus clarifies governments’ responsibilities and tasks in the construction of tourist information websites .
