精确新闻积极借鉴并尝试运用量化研究等社会科学研究方法，对数据加以全方位的综合应用，从而不断增强人们认识事物的科学性与准确度。精确新闻报道应特别重视社会科学的规范与方法，最大限度减小新闻报道的可能偏差，并尽量做到价值中立。精确新闻要理清新闻报道数据的来龙去脉，精心筛选具有新闻价值的数据，善于挖掘数据背后深藏的含义，运用多种技巧使数据更具可读性，从而彰显精确新闻报道更大的传播价值。

Precision journalism actively learns from and tries to use quantitative social science research meth-ods. By a full range of application of integrated data, it consistently enhances people’s understanding of mat-ters in a more scientific and accurate manner. Precision journalism tries to achieve value neutrality by em-phasizing norms and methods established in social science, minimizing possible deviation of news reporting. Precision journalism intends to clarify the ins and outs of the news;it advocates careful selection of data that have news value and expertise in digging out data and using a variety of techniques to make data more read-able, thus showing greater dissemination of the value of precise news reporting.
