The hydraulic design of the side channel spillway in Baijiahe Reservoir is introduced in detail, including the design scheme comparison, the overall layout and hydraulic calculations.Detailed calculation results are also given, such as the discharge capacity, weir surface curve, critical depth of the chute, water depth at the end of the side chan-nel, bottom elevation of the side channel at its end, and the water surface curve in the side channel.
