The Shawshank Redemption is a classic film brimmed with exquisite symbolistic features and a-bundant in symbolic meanings. Predicated on the theory of symbolism, this arti-cle will make a detailed analysis of the multiple symbolistic features and in-depth symbolic meanings be-hind the scene of the hero’ s playing the opera music of Le Nozze di Figaro from the three perspectives of behavior symbolization, background symbolization as well as character symbolization, with a light to better comprehend the dexterous use of symbolism as well as the profound rational connotation and deep theme of the film.
