Constructional feature of the double-cage rotor induction motor, function of the upper and down cage bar during starting up and operation, different shape of the cage bar and selection of materials of the bar & types of the rotor slot were introduced. The comparison results of two different shapes of the rotor slot as well as their suitability in the motor design were described.
