随着《推动共建丝绸之路经济带和21世纪海上丝绸之路的愿景与行动》文件的发布，西部的战略地位得以空前凸显。新政策给西部的教育发展带来了新的机遇，但是也带来了新的挑战。高校英语专业的未来与新政策息息相关，如何在深刻领会文件内涵的基础上，谋求适用于自身发展的新思路，推动新政的贯彻执行是每个教育从业者必须思考的问题。

With the enaction of the document Vision and Movement for Promoting Joint Development of“Silk Road Economic Belt” and “21st Century Maritime Silk Road”, the strategic position of the west China has been highlighted unprecedentedly. New policy brings new opportunities for education in the west as well as new challenges. The future of English specialty in university is closely connected with the new policy. How to explore the new thoughts for better self-development and put the new policy into practice on the basis of the profound comprehension of the document content is actually what every professional EFL teacher should think deeply.
