The shape function with the high-order continuum is constructed with the moving least-square method, and a mesh-free computational scheme is then established for the bending beams. The proposed method is used to inves-tigate the application of the moving least-square approximation in the numerical simulation of the classical bending beam and high-order continuum bending beam. Some key issues such as the imposition of the boundary conditions are studied and discussed.
