3D Virtual Simulation System for shunting service was a real-time rendering system. Modeling quality influenced the rendering speed and effect of the System. Based on the analysis of the system demand, this paper introduced a general method of the station yard modeling and optimization, analyzed several dififculties for the switch and curve segment modeling, and therefore put forward some simple and feasible solutions.
