建筑是人类生活的物质载体，必然积淀了人类悠久的文化。由于不同民族在伦理观念、思维方式、价值取向等方面的不同，因而呈现出不同的建筑文化。从这种意义来说建筑本身就是文化，它代表着不同的哲学思想。本文通过文化价值取向模式对中西古建筑进行了对比研究，阐述了文化价值取向对于建筑的深刻影响，旨在让人们对中西古建筑有更深刻的认识和理解。

Architecture is the material carrier of human life. For this reason, it reflects culture. Differences in ethical concepts, ways of thinking and value orientation and others contribute to the distinctive architectural culture. In this sense every building itself is a culture because it symbolizes a different philosophy. This article makes a comparative study of ancients architecture between China and Western countries from the perspective of cultural value patterns and expounds their profound influence on ancient architecture with a view to enabling readers to better understand it.
