The eastern and western slopes of Mila Hill as the study site, the plant community structure and the re?lationship between TSR (Transformed Species Richness) and altitude were studied, with 10 altitude bands and 45 sample plots, by using TWINSPAN (Two way indicator species analysis), DCA (Detrended correspondence analysis). TWINSPAN classification showed that 6 plant associations can be recognized in the eastern slope of Mila Hill and was not consistent with DCA ordination result well, and 8 plant associations can be recognized in the western slope of Mila Hill and was consistent with DCA ordination result. DCA ordination axis 1 and 2 im?plied that moisture and altitude were the main influential factor for vegetation composition and distribution in the study area. There were significant differences in plant community structure, distribution, and the changes in TSR with altitude between two slopes of Mila Hill. The plant community structure was more complex in the western slope than that of eastern slope. TSR was decreased with increasing in altitude in the western slope but an oppo?site situation found in the eastern slope.
