There are lots of correlations between cultural ecology and regional architecture characteristics in concept. Architecture is a specific cultural element of the overall regional culture system. The essential meaning of the cultural ecology and regional characteristics is the same. In order to acquire better understanding and reference from the success factors of regional creation, this paper analyzes the characteristics and regulations of wooden buildings in northern Europe through the theory of the relationship between the whole and the elements of cultural ecology. As the specific elements of regional overall cultural carrier, simple, natural and highly artistic qualities of Nordic timber buildings are interactions of the regional culture. Forming excellent architectural landscape through the architectural creation experience, highlighting the main features and maintaining high standard can promot the development of the overall regional culture characteristics.
