The direct reduced iron (DRI)gradually become high quality raw material for high-end metal smelting,with advantage of lower price than the scrap and less harmful elements.The gas-based direct reduced iron-making technology in China is in the high-speed growth stage,so our country not only need to study and absorbing foreign existing technology,but also to create own domestic technology,especially when the key equipment and tech-nology become the bottleneck between laboratory techniques and the industrialized production.In the article,pro-ceeding from the gas-based direct reduction basic principle,the MIDREX technology is took as example for introdu-cing its process principle and equipment characteristics,to provide reference for the development of direct reduced i-ron in China.
