It is very important to carry out the mathematical modeling competition based on cultivating the college students’ ability of innovation. In recent years, combined with practice and personal experience of mathematical modeling competition, we analyze the cultivation of innovation spirit and the practice research of college students for Hunan Institute of Science and Technology and cultivate the spirit of innovation research and practice, which developed the formation of the "improvement of the mathematics quality, cultivation of innovative ability training, promotion reform of teaching and research".
