臭氧作为一种非药物性治疗缺血性脑卒中的方法，越来越受到学者们的重视。氧化与氧饱和作用是臭氧生物学效应的基础。臭氧治疗缺血性脑卒时能迅速增加脑组织氧的供应，扩张毛细血管，改善局部微循环，消除脑水肿，提高抗氧化系统的清除自由基能力，改善脑细胞功能；还可加速分解代谢血液中脂质成分，减少循环障碍，从而提高脑卒中患者的疗效。
