琳达·霍根在《靠鲸生活的人》中将部落猎鲸的故事与越南战争场景并置，强烈地谴责了人类对生态的破坏以及对权力无止境的欲望。小说男主人公汤玛斯是越战归来的英雄，但他却始终无法摆脱战争的阴影而将自己禁锢于巨墙之后。回到家乡之后，饱经战争创伤的汤玛斯又再一次遭受了部落分崩离析的创伤。本文拟从创伤理论的视角出发，探究琳达·霍根的创伤书写并提出切实有效的治愈创伤的方法。

Linda Hogan parallels the tribal whaling story with the Vietnam war scenes in People ofthe Whale,thus strongly condemning the human's damage to the ecology and human being's endless desire for power.The protagonist of the novel,Thomas Just is the war hero survived from Vietnam.He retreats himself behind the Wall to bury his memory of war.After returning to his hometown,the war -torn hero once again suffers the trauma of tribal fall. Based on the traumatic theory,this paper will probe into Hogan's narrative of trauma and put forward practical and effective ways of healing trauma.
