随着三网融合的推进,广电网络公司的双向业务受到网络机顶盒、OTT 虚拟运营商及直播卫星愈演愈烈的竞争,只有实现双向数字化改造才能充分发挥广电网络的优势,并逐步满足家庭用户对宽带互联网、VOD 视频点播、多屏互动等业务的需求。目前伴随着多媒体移动终端的普及,越来越多的家庭通过有线或无线网络进行网上冲浪,有线网的优势是带宽较为稳定,可以满足任何应用,但是需要提前规划设计网线的布局,否则将造成部分区域没有网线接入而无法上网,因此产生了一种新型的家庭双向网络接入方式———电力猫,这种方式可以解决当前某些特殊情况下双向网络无法开通的问题。
