阐述了烟草根系特性、发育机理及其不同养分对根系生长的影响。侧根和不定根是烟草根系的重要组成部分；烤烟根系发育过程主要分为侧根原基特化、侧根原基形成及生长点活化、侧根生长等，并伴有一系列基因表达调控过程；不同元素养分（大量、中量及微量元素）都会影响烟草根系的生长，而中量及微量元素的相关研究相对较少，有待于更深入的研究。提出了应该加强烟草根系发育机理研究，并针对中微量元素及活性物质对烟草根系生长发育的影响研究进行了展望。

This paper review s tobacco root characteristics,developm ental m echanism and different nutrients’ effects on root system grow th.Lateraland adventitious roots are prim ary parts of tobacco roots.The process of tobacco rootdevelopm entm ainly involves the specialization and form ation of lateralrootprim ordia,and the activation of apicalgrow ing point,w ith the expression and regulation of a series ofgenes.The nutrients including m acro-,secondary and m icro-elem entcan influence the tobacco rootgrow th,and there have been relatively few studies on the secondary and m icro-elem enteffects on its grow th.A nd the paper suggests thatthe needed further research should be focused on the developm ental m echanism of tobacco roots as w ell as the effects of secondary, m icro-elem ent and active com poundson tobacco rootdevelopm ent.
