The bulletproof mechanism of fiber reinforced composite material and the advantages or disadvanta-ges of some high performance fiber are discussed.The applicatings of Kevlar fiber,UHMWPE fiber,carbon fiber, PBO fiber and the hybridization technology of various kinds of high-performance fibers in bulletproof composite mate-rials are summarized emphatically.Finally the future development of fiber reinforced bulletproof composite materials is discussed,suggesting that in order to meet the future demand for high-performance bulletproof material,the proper hybridization of a variety of high-performance fiber will be the future direction for high-performance bulletproof mate-rial.
