A description about the development process of ferritic heat-resistant steels,and a summary for the research status of the development of the fourth generation heat-resistant steel are presented,focusing on the influence of Co and B elements on the new emerging heat-resistant steel′s microstructure and properties.A favorable proposal to enhance the creep resistance by optimizing alloying elements contents,and to reduce costs of modified heat-resistant steels in future work is presented.
