This paper introduces the general situation of manganese resources around the world (except China) ,including the amount of manganese resources ,resources exploration levels ,and manganese grades of the top‐10 manganese‐rich countries ;some manganese deposits are depicted with geological outlines ,features of orebodies and their affiliated metallogenic belts ;some countries are attached with manganese resources potentials and information about manganese exploitation ;manganese resources distributed in the modern seabed as nodules are also discussed .Considering the geopolitics ,international relations ,investment policies , and infrastructure ,the authors recommend to China’s mining companies as follows while selecting the target countries :intensively strengthening cooperation with neighboring countries ,paying closer attention to African countries ,actively involving in the mining activities in Oceania and South America ;also ,more attentions need to be focused on the updating geological survey of global modern seabed manganese nodules resources .
