自从20世纪70年代摩尔定律提出以来,按照每18个月集成晶体管数量翻一番、成本降低一半的规律,芯片产业实现了飞速发展。而由于受到技术、经济、成本等方面的制约,以及社会应用相对不足的现实,摩尔定律受到了来自多方面的质疑和挑战。因此,芯片制造商不能再一味死抱住定期芯片升级的摩尔定律不放,而应有计划地加大芯片社会应用的开发力度,适当拉长开发周期,并探索进入移动终端领域,避免被边缘化,确保自身的可持续发展。

The Moore’s Law,that the number of transistors squeezing on a single silicon chip is double and the cost is falling by half every 18 months,is put forward in 1970s. Under the effect of the law,the rapid has been achieved develop-ment in the chip industry. Due to the constraints of technology,economy,cost,as well as the lack of social applications, there are more challenges to the Moore’s Law. So the chip manufacturers,such as Intel Inc.,should no longer blindly clings to the Moore’s Law to upgrade the chip. And they should develop chips for social applications,lengthen the develop-ment cycle,explore into the field of mobile terminals in order to avoid being marginalized and ensure sustainable develop-ment.
