The synthesis process research progress of stannous methanesulfonate was introduced. The synthesis methods included stannous chloride replacement method, stannous sulfate replacement method, stannous oxide replacement method, synthesis tin method, electrolysis method. Based on the principle analysis, the contrast of advantages and disadvantages, the describe of literature, it was point out that the most widely method in industrial application was synthesis tin method, electrolysis was the most promising method.
