Crankshaft steel SF690 for marine engine is of high technical requirement, especially requirement for ultrasonic test and mechanical properties.The UT criterion not more thanΦ2mm is required ,which is similar to ESR steel. The strength of the steel sample shall be≥730MPa.After trial production of crankshaft steel SF690 for marine en?gine by adopting the process of EF→LF→VD→Forging, it is concluded that the reasonable smelting regime(Al control, deoxidation) and forging regime are the key points for successful trial production. After improvement of production pro?cess, the qualification rate of products reached 95%.
