A skill as it is to communicate ideas about mechanical engineering in English serves not only harnessing firsthand information of written sources but as a tool for carrying out technical communication and cooperation with international col-leagues. In the preparation for the challenges either oral or written to be expected in future career, 5 course sections simulat-ing field practices were thus designed that takes the forms of vocabulary and pronunciation, translation and intonation, video interpretation, group translation, and oral presentation. The 5 fundamentals in in English usage, i.e. vocabulary, pronunciation, intonation, sentence pattern, and translation, are develop systematically and interactively. Feed backs from classroom practice showed that the pedagogical improvement with these field-orientated course sections made the learning more interesting, helped organize the knowledge accumulated over the years in both English and mechanical engineering and develop the skill for the real world.
