Aiming at the quality defects presented during drawing breakage, the authors, based on drawing breakage position and breakage type, analyzed the influential factors for breakage including composition segregation, slag entrapment and carbon pick-up in casting, wire rod surface defect, process execution, surface scratch, aging period, drawing and welding operation so as to put forward rational measures to improve the quality of high carbon wire rod.
