高校创建学习型学生工作组织，首要的是一定要抓住学习型组织的特征，因为只有抓住其特征并结合高校学生工作的职能和使命，才能赋予高校学习型学生工作组织准确的内涵，即：组织成员拥有共同愿景；组织结构精简、扁平、无边界；成员肯学习且善于学习；成员自主管理和自我创新；成员家庭与事业平衡；领导者扮演新角色；团队执着于“五项修炼”。内涵界定准确，建设实践才会有方向、依据和标准。
