The numerical wave tank is an important tool to study the interaction of wave and structure. The study of viscous numerical wave tank based on Navier-Stokes equations has been last for nearly half a century,and now it is mature,but there are still some problems and limitations to be solved. This paper introduces the developments and applications of vis-cous numerical wave tank at home and abroad,and then proposes the existing problems and suggestion for future research-es.
