All tube sections of immersed tube tunnel are connected by joints. The steel shell, as the carrier for erection of GINA waterstop and OMEGA waterstop, is an important part of the tunnel. The installation precision and efficiency of steel shell play an important role in the immersed tube tunnel construction. Through analyzing the steel shell construction technologies of one-step molding and two-step molding, we introduced the virtues and flaws of two technologies in aspects of applicable scope, safety, quality, etc. The steel shell construction technology of one-step modeling as a new technology has more advantages for the immersed tube which has a large number of tube prefabrication.
