Research‐oriented teaching is a new teaching concept and an important direction of a new round of teaching reform of higher education .The research on the antibacterial performance of quaternary ammonium‐type cation for fabric is taken as an example to dissect the importance of research‐oriented experimental teaching in improving the scientific research quality and innovative ability of undergraduates in Chemical Engineering in common colleges major .Effective approaches and general requirements are put forward for developing research‐oriented experimental teaching .
