The sources and harm of the gas, liquid and solid waste emissions from coal gasification process were elaborated. Using the GE coal water slurry gasification system of a methanol plant with the capacity of 1.8 million tons per year as an example, the amounts and components of the waste emissions were analyzed, and the methods for treatment of the wastes were summarized. Finally, the development trend of the technologies for comprehensive utilization and treatment of the waste emissions was prospect.
