尽管导航与定位已经深入到人们的日常生活，但是导航与定位的含义经常被混淆，而且绝大多数教科书和文献也没有刻意区分这两个既有联系又有区别的概念。本文试图分别给出导航与定位的定义与内涵，讨论导航与定位的联系与区别，描述导航定位分类，简述导航与定位的交叉发展史。试图从学科发展、应用领域的发展讨论导航定位涉及的研究内容，侧重讨论导航与定位未来的重要研究方向。需要强调的是，本文只讨论一般意义的导航与定位，尽管卫星导航定位是重点描述内容，但不特指目前快速发展的卫星导航定位。

Navigation and positioning have been entered our every day’s activities.The definitions and connotations of navi-gation and positioning are often confused by users.Their rigrous definitions and relations have not been described by the current textbooks or literatures.The definitions and implications of navigation and positioning are given in this paper.The relations and differences between navigation and positioning are discussed.The classification and the cross development of navigation and po-sitioning are described.The research contents of both navigation and positioning are listed from learning branch and applica-tions.The future development directions are also followed.It is noted that the general navigation and positioning is discussed, the emphasis is not the satellite navigation and positioning,though they are main contents.
