云南省勐腊县象明乡倚邦村自然环境优越,种茶历史悠久,是普洱茶古六大茶山之一,现存古茶园400多hm2,茶树品种有普洱茶种(C.assamica)和茶种(C.sinensis)2大类。通过实地调查,在倚邦村曼拱二队发现了7株红花茶树,记录其地理位置、维量特征、花器特征等,建立了红花茶树资源档案,为进一步研究红花茶树的遗传与变异提供参考。
