The ultimate strength of various hull girders is calculated by the nonlinear ifnite analysis method for a 1/3-scale welded steel frigate model. The modeling techniques usinge ifnite element method are investigated and compared with Smith Method and experimental results. It proposes an accurate and effcient nonlinear ifnite element method for the ultimate strength of the hull girders, which can provide reference for the improvement of“Guidance of nonlinear ifnite analysis method for hull girders”.
