荀子十分推崇“礼”的地位，同时也非常重视“法”的作用。荀子由“礼”推出“法”，“法”反过来又维护着“礼”的主体地位，在荀子的礼法观中，“礼”与“法”互为融合，“礼”是主体，“法”是手段。当前正在努力推进法治社会建设，什么才是现代法治精神的应有之义，可以从荀子的礼法观中得到有益的启示，那就是法律的制定必须以道德为基础，与此同时法律也必须得到严格执行，以保证社会的和谐。
순자십분추숭“례”적지위，동시야비상중시“법”적작용。순자유“례”추출“법”，“법”반과래우유호착“례”적주체지위，재순자적례법관중，“례”여“법”호위융합，“례”시주체，“법”시수단。당전정재노력추진법치사회건설，십요재시현대법치정신적응유지의，가이종순자적례법관중득도유익적계시，나취시법률적제정필수이도덕위기출，여차동시법률야필수득도엄격집행，이보증사회적화해。
Xunzi respected the status of “Li” ,and also paid attention to the role of “law” .Xunzi thought that “law”came from“Li” ,and“Law”maintained the main body position of“Li” .In Xunzi’s law concept ,“Li” is the main body ,and“Law”is the method .We are currently pushing on the construction of the law society ,and w hat is the proper meaning of the spirit of modern law rule?We can get beneficial inspiration from Xunzi’s law concept .Law must be based on the moral basis ,and at the same time ,law must be strictly enforced to ensure a harmonious society .
