随着CAD/CAM/CAE一体化的三维软件的飞速发展，Pro/Engineer成为现代机械设计三维建模的一种重要工具，作为Pro/Engineer中的传统设计方法，自底向上的设计方法显然满足不了人们对于三维设计由简至繁的要求，自顶向下设计逐渐有了新的应用领域。以Pro/E软件为平台，分析了自顶向下设计与自底向上设计方法的区别。详细地介绍自顶向下的主要设计方法：骨架模型和布局。介绍了骨架模型和布局的概念和特点以及创建方法。通过概念设计、骨架模型设计、产品的布局设计、零件和子组件设计的流程完成模型设计。通过在Pro/E的环境下，以顶层骨架模型为纽带，采用自顶向下的设计方法设计变压器的实例来加以论述。事实证明，基于Pro/E的自顶向下设计方法符合设计者的主观感受，支持协同设计和并行工程，能提高设计的效率，缩短设计周期。

This paper first introduced the concept and the development of the CREO software, analyzed the difference between the Top-down design and the design method of the bottom up. Detailed introduced the top-down main design method, namely the skeleton model and layout. Introduced the concept and characteristics of them and create method. And through the concept design, skeleton model design, product design, parts and the layout of the child component design process finish straight gear reducer design the model. In the CREO environment, with top skeleton model as the link, used the top-down design method to design transformer. Facts proves, CREO based on the top-down design method conforms to the designer's subjective feeling, supports cooperative design and concurrent engineering, can improve the design efficiency, shorten the design cycle.
