“审丑”与“审美”都是现代美学研究范畴内的重要话题，作为审丑艺术出现的土匪形象不只是一种特殊的审美对象，它唤起人们一种否定性的审美体验。湘西影视剧对土匪形象的艺术构建，从美学角度进行了从审丑到多维审美的理论与实践，侧面展演了湘西的地域文化，宣扬了湘西独特的、美好的形象。

The artistic construction of bandit image in films of West Hunan exemplifies the theory and practice from ugliness to aesthetic, revealing the local culture of West Hunan to a certain degree and making known the unique and beautiful image of West Hunan.
