国外对航空化学灭火非常重视，这种灭火方式已成为森林灭火的主要手段，大多数的森林火灾都是采用飞机化学灭火与地面少数扑火人员配合的方式扑救。森林航空化学灭火飞机装备有单独的喷洒系统，连续作业时使用容量较大的飞机喷洒控制线具有显著的优越性；对于较小的火场，小飞机则具有节省飞行费用的优势。
