将《大唐西域记》433个独立语篇区分为272个说明语篇和161个叙事语篇，穷尽式地统计心理形容词在说明语篇和叙事语篇中的数量及频次分布情况，并对其语法功能进行分析，结果表明：说明语体对心理形容词具有排斥性，而叙事语体对其具有高度选择性。这种现象是由语体特征决定的。说明语体和叙事语体的不同语体特征，是造成具有变动性、亲验性、有因性语义特征的心理形容词在《大唐西域记》说明语篇和叙事语篇中产生分布及功能差异的主要原因。

433 texts in Travelling Notes of the Western Region in the Great Tang Dynasty were classified into 272 expository texts and 161 narrative texts. This paper calculated the number and frequency of the psychological adjectives used in these two genre texts and analyzed their grammatical functions. The results showed that expository texts refuse the use of psychological adjectives whereas narrative texts prefer their uses, which is decided by stylistic features. The static, objective, side-by-side characteristic of expository genre and the dynamic, sub jective, cause-and-effect characteristic of narrative genre result in the distribution and grammatical function of psychological adjectives (featured by being fluctuant, personally experiencing, and causally semantic) in Travelling Notes of the Western Region in Great Tang Dynasty.
