虽然不同领域的学者对“剩男剩女”的个体特征进行了分析，但已有研究基本以理论探讨为主。基于中国综合社会调查2010年的数据，实证检验我国“剩男剩女”的个体特征发现，以往在理论分析中所关注的“剩男剩女”的个体特征，大部分并非与男女“被剩”直接相关。在诸多与“被剩”相关的个体特征中，高学历是“剩男剩女”最为稳定且显著的个体特征，除此之外，男性“被剩”还与居住地、收入和工作相关，女性“被剩”则与社会信任有关。
雖然不同領域的學者對“剩男剩女”的箇體特徵進行瞭分析，但已有研究基本以理論探討為主。基于中國綜閤社會調查2010年的數據，實證檢驗我國“剩男剩女”的箇體特徵髮現，以往在理論分析中所關註的“剩男剩女”的箇體特徵，大部分併非與男女“被剩”直接相關。在諸多與“被剩”相關的箇體特徵中，高學歷是“剩男剩女”最為穩定且顯著的箇體特徵，除此之外，男性“被剩”還與居住地、收入和工作相關，女性“被剩”則與社會信任有關。

Although scholars in different fields have analyzed the characteristics of “leftover men and women”, their researches are mainly theoretical analysis .This paper , based on the data of China ’ s Social Survey in 2010, empirically analyses the individual characteristics of “ leftover men and women”, finding that most characteristics found in previous theoretical analysis are not directly related to the “leftover men and women”.Among all the possible reasons relating to “leftovers”, high academic degree is the most stable and significant variable .In addition , for “ leftover men” related factors also include housing conditions , income and profession ,while for “ leftover women”, social trust is an important element .
