Styrene-maleic acid( SMA) hyperdispersant are widely applied in practically every profession for its excellent performance. The structure characteristics,dispersant stability mechanism and influence factors of disper-sion stability of styrene-maleic acid hyperdispersant were introduced in this paper. The latest research progresses of the hyperdispersant based on styrene-maleic anhydride copolymer and its derivatives were reviewed in this article. Finally,the advances of styrene-maleic acid hyperdispersant was prospected.
