右美托咪定（ DEX）是一种新型的高选择性α2肾上腺素受体激动剂，临床应用发现 DEX与咪达唑仑或丙泊酚镇静程度相似，且无呼吸抑制，产生可唤醒的镇静，具有拟“自然睡眠”功能，是一种较为理想的重症监护治疗病房镇静药，目前已广泛应用于临床。近年来，越来越多的基础和临床研究发现，DEX不仅具有良好的镇静效果，还有助于抑制机体炎症反应，具有器官功能保护的作用。
