文章主要从发展的视角探索职场英语在大学英语教育中的定位问题。职场英语教育是顺应了当前学生的语言基础、社会发展，以及社会人才规划等需求下的必然结果；职场英语可视为基础英语和专业英语之间的过渡或衔接课程，同时，这门课程可以在人文理性和工具理性的指导下进行融合性教学，以适应中国社会多方面的转型需要。

The article explores the positioning of English in professional contexts for college English education from a per -spective of development .The teaching of English in professional contexts is an inevitable result of many needs , which is in line with students ’ language level , social development , social talents planning , etc.It can be regarded as transitional course or as a bridging course between basic English and professional English .Meanwhile , this course can be taught under the guideline of humanistic rea-son and instrumental reason in order to meet social transformation needs in China .
